It's not much, but better in the pockets of shoppers rather than the oil companies
I saw 138.9 for diesel from a "middle-of-nowhere" Texaco this afternoon, the closest was 140.9 from a village Murco station. The likes of Tesco/Shell/BP were 141.9+.
Since the local Waitrose changed over to Shell, it's gone downhill, no-more pushing Tesco downwards.0 -
I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that MSE keeps posting these constant threads to wind us up.

Despite all these relayed press releases the overall proportion of time that the supermarkets are cheapest seems to be worse than it used to be.
And why do they co-operate so well in producing them all at the same time?0 -
As usual Tesco will be the last to lower prices. Why don't they follow ASDA's lead and say their price won't be more than 131.7p/litre for unleaded and 135.7p/litre for diesel?
At several of their stores they have repositioned the price signs so they can't be seen by drivers who are in the petrol station. Sneaky tactic.0 -

I don't think Asda are in the lead.
Well, they were in the lead round here when prices were rising, and they were 3 or 4 pence a litre more than half a dozen other places nearby.
And today there are three places a penny a litre (ok, 0.8p) cheaper than Asda, so maybe Asda are playing catch-up.
Edit: I just looked up the diesel price in Belgium Luxembourg and France - down about 7 cents a litre in the last couple of weeks; maybe we've still got another 2p pence more to go down yet0 -
Fuel prices normally fall during the warmer summer months, so hopefully some more "cuts" will come.
Prices shoot up like a rocket, but they come down like a feather0 -
Petrol needs to come down to at least 99.9p/l like the good old days. £50 to fill the tank and lots of long random drives.

so cheaper than this time last year.. and people still complain that the stuff is going up...0

Filled up for 130.9p Petrol on Sunday 21st April at Sainsburys Watford. Diesel was 136.9p.
At 6p difference, I should have kept the diesel car, which returned 45mpg. The new petrol car is giving a disappointing 35mpg.0 -
