    Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Break in the rain so we walked up to Tesco and back, a 15 minute round trip but we ran some of the way at little boys request so a little exercise! Had to get essentials in but came in at under £10, plus used a 25p off Jacobs cracker voucher which was good as little boy loves them.

    Little bit bored today, but its the contrast of the lovely day out yesterday, and the manic pace of work on sunday, which I will be back to tommorow. So I may as well 'enjoy' the boredom.

    Hi Penny-savers,
    Hey, where is all this rain that some of you have today? None here....nice sunshine, but could do with some rain as the garden is getting very dry.
    Not a particularly Money-saving day, but have achieved a few bits (Have had to keep busy & away from the news as I can't bear all the sycophancy re Thatcher & am getting wound up that the taxpayer will be paying for the mega funeral....so good job the government took that money from the Disabled....it'll come in useful :-/)
    Anyway.......
    *Did the ironing (switched off for last garment)
    *Meals as per April meal plans - rubber chicken again tonight.
    *Shredded a pile of old bank/credit card statements to use in our worm composter unit....it means I don't have to buy the coir bedding & works perfectly well.
    *Lots of the plants I grew from last year's free seed are big enough to go in the garden borders now, so I stood them outside to harden off for a few days first. I'm pleased with these.....hardy perennials can be anything from £3.99 to £7.99 at garden centres but if you think a year ahead, it's not difficult to grow your own. I must have got around £150's worth.
    *Got to buy top-up groceries which is a bit annoying, but at least we can make use of our 'My Waitrose' cards for a free coffee each.
    Think that's everything for me today. Cheers, everyone,

    2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
    Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

    Something else to add - bought some good running shoes for £45 instead of the £90 ones I wanted. Almost made the ordeal of Sports Direct worthwhile :D
  • Hi guys :wave: late one for me :p

    what have I done today??

    * checked banking
    * did a survey
    * NSD
    * all meals from stores. Rubber chicken curry - Josie you've inspired me to do a different type of curry so dug out a coleman's curry sauce sachet
    * had some free crisps & maltesers from a colleague at work :o
    * took myself off of the voluntary £35 extra fuel payment First Itility wanted me to pay for March??!
    * posted off certificates for new job
    * will make a carrot & parsnip soup for work lunches for the rest of the week
    * more prepping for plastering on Thursday :(

    Gosh that's all! Hardly the most inspiring list! Small things though... x
