Best account for mother

Hi

My friend has about £5000 to lock away in a cash account for 1-2 years.

What accounts do you recommend for this?

thanks

You don't need Google. At the top of this page there are quick links to "Top Savings Accounts" and "Top Cash ISAs". If OP's friend's mother doesn't have an ISA she should get one, if she has one she should fill it, if it's full then look for the best savings savings account or use an interest paying current account like Lloyds TSB Vantage, BoS Vantage, Santander123.
