MSE News: PPI text spammers censured by watchdog

"Complaints about a company which sent text messages about PPI reclaiming and compensation for accidents have been upheld..."

Comments

  • I have been sent several texts on this subject. When I reported it to the police by phone he said that he had been contacted the same way, and what could people do? He then checked the web site address given and said he thought it was legal!
On another occasion I received a voice message about PPI/accidents. The problem was that I had to press 3 to be taken off their records, thus communicating with them. Press 3 was also to delete the voice message.

Once again, concerning spam texts, just forward them on to your mobile provider on 7726. I've been doing this for ages now. Let the 'phone companies sort it out and pass the info to the ICO. Just never, ever reply to spammers. I personally wouldn't even text STOP, just report them via 7726.

Well, that would depend on the network:

For Virgin mobile, I guess it's also 7726
