And it misses out any mention of the warm home discount.
(130 for the very elderly on pension credit, and some on means tested benefits or with low income)

Something strange with this years WFP for me at least.
For the last three years I've got the £200 but this year only £100.
No change in circumstances (apart from getting older), so haven't got a clue why the 50% drop.
Could be the DWP are making two payments of £100 and the balance will come in the next couple of weeks but if that's the case I'd have expected to see something published on the Gov.uk website and there isn't.
Anyone else experienced this?
Looks like I'll be spending what little I've got to spare ringing the DWP on their expensive 0845 number for an explanation!0 -
esa can get winter fuel allowance? any clarification woudl be helpful. if so do you need to put a call in to them?thanks0

I am over 60 but will be 62 before I qualify so why do they say it is for the over 60s? Who picks the cut-off dates? In this technological age is it so difficult to determine when someone actually reaches 60?0

It appears that my underpayment of £100 for my WFP is down to a "glitch" in the system.
I spent over half an our on an 0845 number sorting out the problem of the DWPs making and I'm still awaiting confirmation of when I shall receive the underpayment.
The glitch it seems is caused when two people share the same postcode and the DWP database assumes they share the same address and automatically cuts the WFP in half.
I checked this by simply ringing the only other person who shares my postcode and is old enough to get the WFP and guess what, he's only been paid £100 this year.
Nice little con by the DWP. Cause a !!!! up and get thousands of people to ring their damned expensive 0845 number to sort it out and make some extra money for the exchequer.
No matter that it'll waste a lot of the DWP's staff time and cost us "losers" more in phone costs but hey it's the DWP and !!!!-ups are par for the course with them.
Just had it confirmed in a phone call that my missing £100 will be paid next week. Yea!0 -

No, they can (sometimes) get a separate thing - warm home discount.

Not everyone on ESA qualifies, it's up to each supplier.
http://www.decc.gov.uk/en/content/cms/funding/whds/whd_broader/whd_broader.aspx is a list of them all.
The policies differ.
However, as far as I'm aware, most require you to be on income-based ESA, if you don't qualify through another route.0 -
Today's email (December 5th) saysIf anyone in your home was born before 6 Jan 1951, you're due up to £300 in tax-free winter fuel payments0

...can't be a widespread glitch ....my postcode is shared amongst 24 houses....at least 3 other households have someone of pension age but I got my £200 two weeks ago with no hassles.:)0 -
partner has been claiming pension credits from 10th October, are we entitled to winter fuel payments?
pension credit office said no, as we were NOT on any benefits between 17th and 23rd of september....but I have read differently somewhere ( cant find it now tho...but Im sure it said if were were NOT on any benefits between those dates, we wouldnt get WFP automatically, we would have to claim ) .... can anyone please clarify
thank you
