What a very disappointing and thin article to be in here. As it includes new cars does that mean, with some manufacturers, discounts off of their fantasy list price? By all means in the spirit of moneysaving point out the need to seek a discount on every major purchase, but average savings over an unconnected gaggle of cars and price ranges? Not worth the money it was printed on.0

I agree. Completely meaningless.
About the only interesting thing is that as many as 40% of buyers paid full asking price.0 -
What a weird article, almost read like an advert for Autotrader.
"Auto Trader group director Nathan Coe says: "With so many sellers getting less than they were expecting for their cars, it raises the question of whether this is people not valuing their cars appropriately or whether it's buyers taking advantage of a weak market."
Not much of question to puzzle over here: People consistently value their cars at higher than market price as they know everyone who comes to kick the tyres will haggle.0 -

Speaking as a part time motor trader, it also sets an expectation on the used market that cannot be met.
I've a Golf for sale at the moment very competitively priced at £1495, just got a 'i will give you £1050 for it mate' text. Would love to be on the sort of margins this guy thinks i'm on...0
