New "Got It" button for Freebie Hunters

Hi everyone
We’re rather excited to let you know about a new button we’re adding to the Freebies board.
Simply put, the "Got It" button will be available for logged on users on all threads on the board and the board display. When a freebie falls through your letterbox simply return to the original thread you saw it on and click the button. It also adds a handy icon next to the thread. In case you ever need reminding that you "Got it".
Similar to the "Thanks" button, it should help you keep track of what you’ve applied for, and whether it’s arrived, and let other, future Freebie hunters know how many people have received a freebie before they decide to give their details for something.
We’re beginning to roll it out now. But please be patient this afternoon for the change to bed in before you start reporting any problems, as it’s likely to take a little time to get everything in place.

Sounds like a good idea.. could it be tweaked to hide threads from your display once you've clicked 'Got it'? You could then enable/disable the hide option in CP?0

Hi all,
The "Got It" button should be working now. But you need to be logged in to see the button and the "Got it" information ;-).
Would you find this feature useful when logged out also?
To keep the forums nice and nippy we try to keep things simple for our servers. Retrieving the got it information for guests as well creates a bit of extra work. So we'd like to know how useful you would find it before we make that change.

Hi, this looks like a useful feature, but is there any chance of the "entered" button (with a tick appearing in the thread list) making a re-appearance? This was really useful of having a quick way to see which freebies you'd requested.0

The Got It button should do roughly the same thing. If you get it, you will see a little cardboard box icon next to the threads you've got. If it's not working for you, please let me know which style you are using

Yeah, they are. I'm quite happy to use the got it button so I can see what I've requested, but if MSE wants it to be a record of what has actually arrived, separate "Requested/Entered" and "Got it" buttons would be really useful IMO.0 -
Hi all,
After having a chat we decided to go ahead and make the list of "got its" available for non-logged in users also. Meaning you are now not forced to login to see it. Hopefully this is more convenient for you.
