Hmm...a re-balancing of the Which project?
Let's hope if it is, Ofgem investigate it since undue discrimination was raised in that discussion.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
I'm glad I signed up for their Big Switch fixed (to 31 July 13) electricity tariff in June. This for me, @10.38p per unit (plus £63p.a. SC), represented a 7% reduction then (and a even bigger saving now.)
At the time it was also the cheapest fixed or variable tariff avaiable (incl. their half yearly cash dividends) for my area and consumption.
It's worth noting their prices vary widely from region to region. Fortunately I'm in one of their cheapest regions (Area 14). For some areas they are way off the mark.If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.0 -
Would that be the fixed rate they promised when they launched they would never do?And they have promised not to hard-sell customers, there will be no exit penalties for switching customers and they won’t lock people into fixed-price contracts.0

Yes you are probably right it could well be to do with the Which project. I took part in the Which Big Switch but decided not to take up the co-op tariff that was offered as I felt that the savings were not much compared to what I am paying with my current supplier. All the suppliers charge high prices anyway so what is the point in switching.0 -

Yep.. They acknowledged that in the marketplace some people want the reassurance of budgeting for a fixed cost. But at least they have only got two tariffs rather than four hundred.*
At least Britsih Gas, appear to have followed the Coops lead (and after the big six got a kicking by the regulator)* by simplifying their complex and confusing multiple tariff structures.
We know that choosing an energy tariff is complicated. To help, we have simplified our tariffs to just two types, Variable and Fixed,....... Our new tariffs launched on 22nd June

*"Britain's biggest energy firm has bowed to pressure from customers and watchdogs to simplify its complex and confusing tariffs.British Gas, which has 15.9million customers, admitted that families find it difficult to identify the cheapest deals and will move to a system of just two tariffs – one variable and another at a fixed rate.
Currently, UK energy firms offer more than 400 tariffs between them, a maze of charges that most customers have no hope of negotiating to find the best deal."
