JSA (A4E) clothes allowance query?

Son's girlfriend has been claiming JSA since Sept 2011 and is now on a programme with A4E
She has an interview (fingers crossed) and was told by are JSA advisor she was entitled to £100 for interview clothes
Upon arriving at the Job centre they said she'd been given incorrect information as they deal with 'in work' clothes allowances and A4E deal with interview clothes allowances.
She went to A4E and they gave her £40 and explained that was the maximum allowance as you can kit yourself out in a suit, blouse and shoes suitable for interview for £40 in Primark.
I'm just wondering if anybody knows if that is correct or if A4E have withheld some of her allowance?
Has anyone had experience of this?

If she is on the work programme the JCP will not be able to issue any funding at all.
As for A4E, they can give her want they want as far as I am aware, no amounts are in their contract, just discretion.0 -
Thank you
She seems to be getting conflicting information all roundA big big thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone entering0 -
It is not an allowance and she should not think of it as such.
It is entirely discretionary.0
