Just checked my online banking at FD and all seems ok.
Used debit card earlier at petrol station, no problem.
Opened a regular saver at FD at around 2pm and that seemed to work ok too.I am an IFA, but nothing I say on this forum constitutes financial advice. Always draw your own conclusions and always do your own research.0 -
I've not had any problems with FD, I have just logged on and transferred some money to my Tesco Clubcard Plus.0

Possibly because whomever you got your petrol/shopping etc from does not use HSBC directly in a real time manner when you put your card in but is sufficiently large to have it own in-house payment processing centre.........which only later deals direct with HSBC.
All thereby avoiding queues at their tills if HSBC or anyother banks for that matter is 'busy' and therefore avoiding restricting till throughput and hence profits!0 -
