We've even given up forecasting when the rate won't be 0.5% any longer.

I do predict, however, that the BOE will continue to make use of that unexpectedly effective piece of shoptalk - that inflation 'will move' towards 2% once 'temporary' factors stop interfering with their funnel of inexactitude. This has been the biggest hit in Whitehall since someone forgot to change the battery in the electric clocks - rendering them 'correct' twice daily. Forecasting hasn't looked back since..
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam
  • I predict the next move will be downwards.

I hope so! Keeps my mortgage payments low :)
  • I have been saving £200 p/m on my Mortgage for the last few year as I'm on a 0.49 above the base rate deal so i'm enjoying it while I can.
I have been saving the £200 for a rainy day so have a nice little sum now.

Totally understand that they will go up in the future but i'm enjoying it while I can.
On the flip side im only getting 3% on my savings but the mortgage saving is better for me.
