Why on earth say they are non-transferable, then say you can re-sell them to 'friends'? And without photo ID, which concert promoters are now starting to insist upon? The article says you can't re-sell online for a profit and you can't re-sell at an online auction site - so what about re-selling offline for a profit, via a newspaper or magazine? Or by writing to a corporate hospitality organisation? Lots more to uncover, I think.

"You should not, however, sell tickets online for a profit as this is a criminal offence. It is also illegal to sell tickets via online auction sites"
Under what law is this illegal? I know that the resale of Football tickets is illegal under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, but I wasn't aware that this covered the Olympics too.
Sounds like scare tactics to me...

Does anyone understand section 2 (c) & 3 from the above link. Does it mean if we say we didn't know then it is ok?

(2)(c) a person shall (without prejudice to the generality of subsection (1)(a)) be treated as acting in the course of a business if he does anything as a result of which he makes a profit or aims to make a profit.

(3)A person does not commit an offence under subsection (1) by advertising that a ticket is available for purchase if—

(a)the sale of the ticket if purchased would be in the course of a business only by reason of subsection (2)(c), and

(b)the person does not know, and could not reasonably be expected to discover, that subsection (2)(c) would apply to the sale.

I guess they don't give a (insert what you like) about security.

What if those tickets came into the hands of terrorists?

It had no link, It was not to long and I have no idea why.
  • What was stopping terrorists buying tickets through the official channels?

For those who didnt get tickets you have saved yourself some money and you could buy a tv and invite your friends over to watch the games

I wish stricter laws where in place with all tickets, every concert which will be big leaves many fans without tickets and half the tickets on ebay and such like.

Anybody know what happens when you've got childrens' tickets which were priced at their age in pounds? If we've got 2 adult tickets and one 8 year old and one 6 year old, could we only sell the childrens tickets to friends/family who had children of that age or younger?
