What is the retirement age of MP's and what are their T&C of retirement ?0 -
65 sounds sweet: it'll be 66 by the time my wife and I get our state pension, assuming HMG hasn't gone bust by then.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Am I missing something here?
They want people to plan for retirement and have a pension but here we are moving the goal posts around again, how can anyone make a plan when some third party keeps changing the rules.
Its a big Con/Dem

60 or 65 depending on when they joined, the same as most DB pension schemes.
Since they will receive the state pension at the same age as anyone else why is this relevant?
It's not, of course, except for the comforting thought (to some) that 650(ish) people & their pay & pension arrangements are responsible for all the problems of this country.
The other 60(ish) million are completely blameless and are totally under the control of the aforementioned 650(ish). Of course.It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.

I'm one of the cohort of women who will be most significantly affected as when the changes were made in 2007 mine rose to 63 and now's it's changed to 65. That's a big jump for someone a few years off retirement.
It sounds like there is some dissent though (but I haven't heard the late evening news so I may be wrong on this).

I am one of those who fall foul of the new pension rules and have had 6 years put on to my working life, I would like to see a man stand for it; at least theirs is only going up by 1 year
