suggestions - small car easy to get in and out
My inlaws are looking for a new small automatic car that is easy to get in and out of. They are looking to spend between 3 and 4K. They like our scenic but are are looking for something a bit smaller, a mini mpv/people carrier. I had suggested a Meriva but another family member has said they are not the most reliable cars. my other thoughts are a Merc A class.
Any other suggestions?

my mum is disabled but finds the hyundia i20 pretty good (although no idea what the auto is like on that)
my parents in law are not disabled but being around 80 dont move the easiest and they find the skoda fabia pretty goodDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
3-4k consider a Suzuki Wagon R. Honda Jazz too, but not sure what you can get for that money.
A £3k Merc A class auto could be a real headache - the first ones weren't known for reliablity.0 -

The Meriva isn't a bad choice; the Mercedes A Class for 3-4k will be horrific in terms of reliability. I would avoid the first generation A-Class at all cost - this is from my Dads experience of owning one - you'll be paying the same £150 per hour dealer rate as the guy who runs a £100k car unless you can find a decent specialist who has the tools and computer to hook up.The man without a signature.0

I ill have to arrange a car for my mother soon and ease of access will be imperative and she wants itsmaller than her current RAV4. I haven't done too much research just yet but the Nissan Note will be high on my list to check out thoroughly.
Just a point that might be relevant:- a good local dealer, do they really want to travel miles for servicing etc. The local Toyota dealership falls over itself to help my mother out which is very important to her.0 -

My mother in law (severe arthritis) manages to get in and out of our Jazz pretty easily. Indeed, much more easily than any of the other cars in the extended family. The doors open wide, the seat is at a sensible height and she finds it possible to swing her feet in.
The rear 'magic' seats in the Jazz make it super practical - we've managed to get a sideboard in there!0
