Have just read about this recall notice in yesterdays paper. The following is on their website.
11-03-2011Beaphar Cat Spot on Repels Fleas
Batch 92 Recall
On Wednesday, 8th March, 2011, we received a report that a Cat Spot on product had been found to which Dog Spot on vials (white tubes with white caps) had been attached.
We immediately initiated our Recall Procedure, which we have often rehearsed, but never before needed to use. To date, no other packs have been found.
Recall posters have been distributed to all the pet shops that purchased the product from us, for them to alert customers who may have already purchased product, and recall notices have been published in the National Press.
Cat owners who have recently purchased this product should check it before use. If your Cat Spot on product contains white tubes with green caps, everything is OK and the product is safe to use. If you discover it contains white tubes with white tops, please call or email us as soon as possible. DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT. We will ask that you return it to us for replacement or a full refund.
As a conscientious medicines’ manufacturer, we have taken this situation extremely seriously and taken all reasonable steps to rectify it as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologise for the error, and any inconvenience caused to our customers.
Should you have any further concerns about this issue, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 01440 715700 or by email to info@uk.beaphar.com.

I know someone who works at Beaphar, and I think they did a good job contacting all of their customers. All us responsible pet owners should check what medicines we are giving our pets, such as checking what's inside as well as on the box, and checking whether it's in date, and the dosage rate etc. Basically, things we would check on medicines that we take ourselves! After all, just because you've bought a medicine from a pet shop, doesn't make it any less lethal if used incorrectly! Judging by some stories I've heard, some people shouldn't have pets! Good on Beaphar for being brave enough to let their competitors know their mistake!0

Call me cycnical if you like but I have the feeling you're somehow connected with the company.
I've just looked at their website. You actually have to go looking for the information, so if I hadn't read about it on here I'd be none the wiser. In my opinion it should be very obvious on the landing page.
Irresponsible is what I'd say about them :mad:0 -

Like I said, I know someone that works there, and if buying their pet food connects me.....?? And it's on the front page of the .uk site, it's the first item under the 'news' section. As I said before, if people want to buy these over the counter medicines for their pets (I personally don't), then you have to remember it's STILL a medicine! If in doubt, buy the more expensive and probably more effective stuff from your vet0
