How long does contributions based JSA last ?

And what happens when it ends ?

Comments

  • JSA (CB) is 6 months after that you are transfered to JSA (IB) and how much you are awarded depends on the household income

Thanks for your reply, I am asking this about a friend who has been on JSA for 18 months and I am surprised he still gets it as his partner earns 30k ?

he may still be going to sign on weekly/fortnightly and receiving his NI credits but not a JSA payment as such...if his partner earns more than £102 per week there would be no payment

Once your 6 months is coming to an end you will get a letter informing you, it is then up to you to make the income based claim you don't just transfer automatically
