The help for people who cannot pay their bills is simply a way for the Government to escape their responsibilities.

It will be exactly the same as social tariffs - simply an exercise in passing increased costs to other customers - 'Robbing Peter to pay Paul'!

If it is deemed that some families cannot cope with gas and electricity bills, then it is a matter for the Social Services and any assistance should be funded from taxation and not a levy on other gas and electricity customers, many of whom can ill afford themselves to pay the increased charges.

Why have you used a news story to include a link to this website's money making guide and not to what you say is a charity organising this initative, it says on behalf of consumers in debt, which is the subject of the story?

  • What's the point of Consumer Focus being invovled as they are going to disappear. BTw I support this organisation, and if it is axed it is further evidence that our 'elected' representatives are clueless.

When energy becomes too costly for the regular guy, he will have to re install the old style of heating and go down the woods every few days to chop up some wood, only the rich will be able to afford gas/oil products.

Would it be a good idea to have the energy companies invest in sustainable woods for people who really can not afford gas prices, old people die from cold and if only they had a wood fire they would be sweating in their homes with a full tank of hot water ready to go, without worrying about bills, a new system employing wood men, they cut and deliver to old peoples homes, creating jobs and saving lives, obviously wood costs cash but not a fraction of the cost of gas and its sustainable.
    Owed out = lots.
