From what I can ascertain it would appear that this only applies to Halifax customers. Which therefore shouts to me that Lloyds dont particularly care for their own customers - only ones just 'bought' with takeover. Why cant they satisfy their own customers FIRST and then deal with Halifax customers.
Shameful and disgusting behaviour.

Second thoughts - it would appear therefore that my claim (four years now) is 'not as important' as theirs and that this is publicity stunt to let the great British public know that they are a caring and thoughtful bank (quote: making sure their customers are on the right package) BS. I am so heartily sick of LLOYDS BANK. Anyone listening to me - not from the bank I suspect. They couldnt care less.0

Hi all,
Just read this story and realise that I need to act now.
I am concerned that customers from May 2008 are being contacted. I was (mis)sold PPi for a new Halifax One cc in Dec 2007, just a few months before. This was still the same product being sold in May 2008.
Do I just follow the PPI reclaiming guide and send to the Halifax or is there a way of contacting Lloyds directly for this?
Any advice appreciated. There must be other people thinking this affects them too.

Hi there
Yes just follow the guidelines of reclaiming below link - stage one, send to their head office or if they have a separate complaints dept, remember to keep copies of everthing in case you need to go back to this again at some point.
I would keep everything in writing to be honest, and complete the reclaiming questionnaire that replaced the template letter on this site, but you can write a letter instead in your own words if you want to.
They normally have 8 weeks, but may ask for more time.

I think that my husband may have been mis sold PPI on selveral credit cards including Lloyds as he was self employed for some of the time he was paying PPI on his cards and I was told that if you are self employed that the PPI did not cover you.The PPI reclaim is difficult to understand and if you are already in financial trouble then how do you afford to pay for advise.0

I have just received a letter today from the bank stating that i may be eligible for a refund. There is a number that it states that you should read the enclosed policy document and consider if the policy suited you when purchased. It states that if you did not find it met your needs that you should ring an 0800 number to discuss and to consider if you are infact eligible. I wondered if anyone has done this yet. I am fine writing to people but get in a bit of a tizzy on the phone, worried that this is just a scam to try and sell you something else. Any pep talks appreciated.
Thanks0 -

If any or all apply to you then write a letter to each card company and say "you believe you were mis sold this ppi because"... and give your reasons (self employment may count) all you need are the account numbers. Send the letters recorded delivery and give them 8 weeks to respond. Writing a letter in your own words may be the way to go if you do not feel able to fill the template letter in. A letter will do the same as the template and get the same result. Also if you fill a template letter in now and then you have to go to fos later, you will have to fill another one in.0
