Santander/A&L freephone number - get problems sorted at their expense not yours!

Having had no end of problems with my A&L (now Santander) account over the last few months, I had given up calling their expensive customer service number and asked on here for advice. Thankfully, philbostavros kindly gave me a freephone number (which I have just used, it does work!) and I'm hoping my main issue has now been resolved (fingers crossed!). I thought I'd share the number in case others are still paying to help Santander sort out their own mistakes...

It is 0800 0566 066.

Or if your calling from a mobile, call the landline number on the back of your card, that usually works and comes out of your inclusive minutes.

I hate freefone numbers as they are generally not free from a mobile. When will organisations realise that we want numbers that don't cost us a fortune to call them on! Generally as mentioned you can use the outside UK number which will come out of your minutes not be charged as extra.
