Marmite - Best Before End May 2007

I'd eat it....when you need marmite on toast, you NEED marmite on toast.
My main concern is how the poor jar has been sat unloved for over 3 years???If my words are missing letters then please excuse me....my keyboard is a tad dodgy!!0 -
I felt really sick when I ate a slice of toast then saw that the Marmite expiry date was 2 years ago!!!! However I think this was psychological as I'd been eating it for ages with no ill effects. I acquired mine when I was slimmer of the week at slimming world (someone had put it in the basket- cheeky sod).0

OK... I've just checked the date on my marmite (purely for the purposes of this thread)
May 2005
:o
but its still perfectly edible... and I'm nearly at the end of a vast jar, so I expect it'll be finished in early 2011...0 -
Thanks for that edifying input Penny

I don't think I've ever checked the date on marmite... I assumed it was like tar and lasted forever. But I'd eat it... and cook with it... actually mostly I eat it on it's own, probably when I need salt (I do the same with gentleman's relish - Penny probably doesn't like that either
:D)
Actually, I do like Gent's relish and Worcs sauce
I like Twiglets too

I've just bought a jar of 'special edition' Marmite which promises to be extra strong. I expect I'll eat it just as fast as every other jar I buy - it never gets a chance to become that old round here !0
