I often give people cakes like banana loaf, which involves baking it in a tin then removing it, and giving it to them wrapped in clingfilm.
Today I saw this: http://www.supercook.co.uk/products/bake-in-the-box/bake-in-the-box-white-chocolate-&-raspberry-cake-mix/15429 which got me thinking!
Are there any little tray/box type things that you can bake the mixture in and present the finished cake? I don't mean tin-liners; things that can stand on their own?

these are brilliant! Thanks for the link. Great for giving cakes/bread as gifts :TGrocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

I like!
Soooo expensive though! Nearly a pound each for the big ones, and 50p each for the little 4 x 2" ones!0 -
There are ones made from aluminium that are disposable. In my experience they can be re-used if need be. I've found the loaf style ones in our Pound shop and local markets. Also check here
You can wrap with cling film or aluminium foil and wrap a ribbon around it for gift giving.
HTHTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

re OP
I'd just love it if someone did this for me! (As the mother of two great lads, much more likely to be the other way round...)
You can give me a cake and not worry for a second that it's wrapped in cling film rather than being in a posh box. If it helps, I'll give you an empty box which you can fill for me....Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
I always use this company for buying cake boxes - they're cheap and deliver fast too. HTH
Oops! Sorry I didn't read that you wanted to bake them in the box tooSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -

How about putting in one of these loaf cake tin liners and then putting in a cellophane bag and tied with ribbon. I have little cellophane sweet bags, not sure where to get bigger ones.
There are these, but these have a paper back, it would be nicer if it was completely cellophane. I bought some cellophane on a roll, perhaps you could do something with that.

there's this one which looks more like it.

Ebay has some good leads...check what else this seller has. The little white takeaway carrier bags would make fabulous gift bags!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

I use paper plates like these from Ikea (for transporting cakes)
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10139006
They are much larger and stronger than normal paper plates , look good and work out at just over 10p each.
I wrap the finished cake in florists cellophane as well to protect it0 -
Since I read this thread earlier I've been craving banana bread soooooooo badly! I have had to eat a sandwich made with currant bread, banana and golden syrup :-) I am pregnant so I'm allowed to do naughty things like that :-P0
