Archna's Free Game of the Week: Fantastic Contraption
I have to admit I found this one tricky! A brilliant and clever game which tests your ingenuity. Thanks to my friend Doug for suggesting this one!

Note from Martin: Why it's Archna's Free Game of the Week
You'll notice that it's Archna's free game of the week, much like it's Andrea's Freebies. MSE Archna is a stalwart of the team, and in charge of making sure everything's organised, sorted, collated, checked, researched and generally spiffing in the e-mail - as well as being a seriously good researcher.
Sadly though, I noticed that occasionally she loses focus and catch her playing the games that we put at the end of the e-mail. She persuaded me this was part of her 'testing work' - so now it's an official part of her job. She gets to choose the games each week! Blame her if they're no good (and as for why her name's in pink.... I'm really not sure!)

I'm stuck on level 16. One of the best bits of this game is seeing other peoples designs - some people are amazingly clever.
SPOILERS/HELP BELOW .......
Level 3 - Make something ridgid with a long line of powered wheels fixed together with lots of triangles so it doesn't bend - kind of like a 20 wheeled truck for difficult terrain.
Level 8 - 2 solutions, either make a see-saw out of a triangle and a plank attached to the the box and the other end attached to lots of wheels to weigh the other end down OR another multi-wheeled all terain vehicle with a structure to hold the box much higher than the rest of the vehicle. Then all you have to do is get the thing to stay balenced.

I should never have clicked on this
Martin has asked me to tell you that I'm the Board Guide of the Telephones, Reclaim Bank Charges, Silver Savers and Scotland boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and I can move and merge threads there. Pease remember, board guides don't read every post. If you spot an illegal or inappropriate post then please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com. Board guides don't deal with this. Any views are mine and not the official line of MoneySavingExpert.

Does anyone know if The Incredible Machine was ever updated for Windows Vista, it's much the same as this one but with about 50 different levels and a lot more devices.
