newbie private parking ticket help - Scotland?

Hi all,
Apologies, I couldn't really see the info on this in the sticky's/first thread:
my wife got a ticket on her window parking in a local Scottish hospital carpark, from a private company called CP Plus. We ignored it on advice of hospital staff. We've now recieved a letter from PCS (Payment Collection Services), stating they obtained details of our vehicle, and "must pay within 28 days of this letter to avoid further action".
What's the deal with this in Scotland? I know it's different in England, and this is not a council ticket.
Thanks!

Scotland = simples = ignore. CP Plus are toothless enough in England, in Scotland you can simply paper your outside loo with the bumf they and their useless debt collectors will send you. They can and will do nothing else.Je suis Charlie.0

Bazster is spot on with the advice to ignore completely.
These CP PLus parasites depend on a high proportion of people paying up as they are not aware of the law in Scotland and/or they are frightened by the pretend quasi-legal wording of the letters.
You'll get more letters - approx one a month perhaps 5 or 6 of them and then they give up.
In Scotland the keeper cannot be held responsible for the actions of the driver - so they must chase the driver - and unless you are foolish enough to tell them - they are stuffed.
Which hospital was this as a matter of interest?0 -

Hi all,
Apologies, I couldn't really see the info on this in the sticky's/first thread:
And from the very first post onn the Sticky:If in Scotland/NI:
Apart from (of course!!) complaining to the landowner/retailer you should IGNORE your fake PCN unless you are not the registered keeper and that is a company (hire car or leased/company vehicle).* You are safe to ignore because there is no worthwhile appeals process - do not believe what the fake PCN says! This Watchdog video still applies in Scotland and NI because a PPC has to know who was driving (unlike in England/Wales now):

WHEN IGNORING IN SCOTLAND/NI, KEEP ALL LETTERS. DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY EVEN IF YOU HAVE MADE A PAPER AEROPLANE FROM THEM!0 -
As for 'stating they obtained details of our vehicle, and "must pay within 28 days of this letter to avoid further action". [/COLOR
- I hope they frighten themselves into paying you:-) Couldn't resist it, op.
Iceweasel and the others are spot on: non-event in Scotland=powerless scumpany.
Do name the Hospital please. It's helpful for others and for Parky.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Ok, so I missed it, but thanks all for replying.
For those that asked, the hospital was the Southern General in Glasgow. What should I expect next after the first letter? More 'demands'? Threat of court action?0 -

Yes, you'll get all that. It'll also appear to go through several companies, each of which is in fact just the next desk along in the same room. Among the threats you'll also get increasingly-desperate pleas for you to pay smaller sums dressed up as generous offers. Just ignore it all and you'll finish up paying nothing.Je suis Charlie.0 -

Ok thanks. I was considering going down the appeals process route laid out on the letter - bad idea then?0
