Buyer wants item sent to another address?

Just done a quick google search and apparently sending to an address other than the confirmed address on file can invalidate the buyer/seller protection.
The buyer left another address in the note section when they paid. Teal star buyer, but I don't know, looking for advice. Thanks.

You do need to send an item fully tracked to the address that paypal say is 'OK to send to' for full seller protection, however depending on the value and whether you are tracking or not you can make your own mind up.

cant they just add it as a gift address in paypal?
i have done that many times with no problems with sellers sending that way0 -
personally i wouldnt, all they have to say is they havent recieved the item, your reciept will then be invalid because it was a different address and you will then have to refund while they have your item, they may be genuine but there's alot of people out there that arent so is it really worth the risk?
just email the seller before sending and say your unable to send to a different address because it is against paypal rules or i will not be covered under the seller protection so you can only post to registered address.0 -
Some buyers don't realise how easy it is to add another address on paypal so put it in the notes section instead. I've posted to different addresses upon request without any problems but the items have all been low value items that have been posted with untracked mail. I would not do so for an item that needed to go by tracked mail.0

Are sellers protected by Paypal? Surely, if the item is below £46 you send it by RM with a COP and you are covered by them. If buyer says item didnt arrive you refund them and claim off RM.0

the cop address has to match the paypal address

No, workbikeman is quite correct. THe COP covers the sender against loss up to £46 if item is eligible. EBay /PayPal do not run RM however much they think they do.
