HIGH PRAISE for am American Company - Harry Mason Jewellery

I am so amaized at the customer service that I am experiencing with this company (Harry Mason Jewellery, San Francisco) that I can hardly believe it. Because it is so unusual, I felt I ought to let other people know there are individuals and companies around who really do care about their customers!

In mid 1993 I paid a visit to San Francisco's Pier 39. One of the many small shops there was a jewellery shop owned and run by Harry Mason. He had created a special design of ear-ring which I liked so much, I bought a set.

Unfortunately, (and I have no idea how it happened), I lost one ear-ring some while later and ended up putting the other one away and forgetting about it.

Over a decade later I was sorting through a draw and found the remaining ear-ring and opted for the modern thing of searching online to see if Harry Mason was still in business. He was, so I contacted him.

I explained what had happened and even though it was about 17 years ago that I purchased the jewellery, as I fulfiled certain criteria, he said that if I posted the remaing Earspiral (his unique type of 'twist-on' ear-ring) he would make a replacment at no charge.

I posted the Earspiral back to him and was able to take the opportunity to place an order for more Earspirals. That month one of his special offers was free postage if you order over a certain amount (which was a reasonable sum), I thought this offer would only apply within the US, but no, he confirmed the offer applied internationally as well. I asked if they could hold my order and send it to me with my original Earspiral and the replacement, which they happily agreed to.

Unfortunately, it now looks like the packet containing my single ear-ring has got lost in the US postal system. When I told Harry of my fears, he informed me that he didn't want to wait any longer for it and would send my order to me within a day or so and that he would include a pair of Earspirals the same as I was asking a replacement for at no charge!

Good Customer Care just doesn't really cover what he offers his customers!

Not only will I now not lose out, but he has also confirmed with me that if I end up having to pay Duty to Customs & Excise when my order reaches our shores, he will refund that as well!

If only other people were as kind and good to their customers as this man is!

(I can confirm that I am no one special to him. If we met it would have been that once, back in 1993 and he might have sold the Earspiral to me! He apparently treats all his customers as very special people)

This is either a well fabricated story or there are some really nice people out there these days. :D
