Annoying mark on new trainers!

Hello, so I have some brand new trainers, all white. And one of the trainers has a really annoying black scuff mark on it.
It makes the whole trainers look bad....
The best way to describe it is as if someone has put permenant marker(that's not what it is) on it, I've tried water a white polish to try and get it off but that hasn't worked.
Does anyone have an idea? I'll try and get a picture of the mark up for you, if you're unsure about what sort of mark it is.
Cheers!

I use a rubber to get scuff marks of my wooden kitchen floor, but I'd never thought of using it on trainers. Thanks troo.

try putting toothpaste on a wet cloth and rubbing over the mark.:)0

If none of the above suggestions work then I am sure that there is some shoe whitener stuff that you can buy.
Will cost a few pounds but should save your trainers.

Thanks for all the help..
In the end i used my finger nail to scratch the mark off! It's worked brilliantly, I think all I needed was an abrasive material...one that wouldn't absolutely ruin the shoes, and now they're good as new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Stuff Happens As Wave of Ambiguity Spreads:cool:0 -
