We have two pairs of tickets up for grabs to see two of the World’s most successful and influential musicians!
They come to Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre’s (AECC’s) Press and Journal Arena on 21, July 2008. This is your chance to see 7 times Grammy award-winning, Jay-Z with 3 times Grammy award winning producer and cover artist Mark Ronson supporting the hip-hop star!
Jay-Z’s latest tour follows the release of his tenth album, ‘American Gangster’, in November 2007. The tour also includes headlining performances at this year’s Glastonbury and O2 Wireless festivals, making him the first ever hip-hop artist to headline a British festival.
The hip-hop supremo is known for his ability to compose songs and lyrics without the need for pen and paper, while his 2006 comeback album, ‘Kingdom Come’, sold nearly 700,000 copies in its first week of release. In addition to a successful solo career, Jay-Z has collaborated with likes of Linkin Park, R Kelly and his partner, Beyonce Knowles. He is also the former CEO and president of Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fela Records who’s portfolios have included the likes of The Beastie Boys, Kanye West and Rihanna.

“It was great to announce such a major name in the world of music when we confirmed Jay-Z was coming to the venue” says Clark Milloy, Managing Director, AECC. “To announce another internationally acclaimed artist at the same event is a bonus and it should be a fantastic evening for ticket holders”.
English-American, Mark Ronson became a household name following the release of his critically acclaimed second album ‘Version’ in April 2007, which included top ten hits such as ‘Stop me’, ‘Valarie’ and ‘Oh My God’. The album features collaborations alongside the likes of Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen and covers of Radiohead and the Kaiser Chiefs. Its success has earned him the first ever Brit Award to be won by someone who doesn’t sing on the recording.
