ordered a load of 2nd hand books for my course, at a much reduced price,which 2 retail at £27.99 new. (one cost me 52p + £2.50 p&p) and as described "second hand" (selling for well over a tenner on ebay +p&p), anyway first batch has just arrived, and very impressed, looks like they've never been opened!!! waiting for second batch to come. spent £31 just under, for 6 study books, one duplicated order and sold it to fellow student on mon for £5 (£4 profit and they still got a bargain!!)

see I find abebooks to be poor - I can rarely find a bargain for my course.. They're usually not very discounted (literally saving £1 on the RRP)..
Amazon is pretty good and academic book trade can be too.0 -
I'll have to remember abebooks for my girlfriends, she just saved a fortune on amazon compared to her crappy uni book shop:santa2:0

My elderdaughter has used them for years for her course books and finds they often have harder to find items. Good facility.0

I use bookbutler.co.uk which searches Amazon, Amazon market place and ABEbooks and gives you the best price, have found it very useful.

Amazon (especially for new books and with free delivery if over £19); amazon marketplace quite good for 2nd hand books (but watch out for old editions - ie not most up todate) - but have £2.75p del costs...amazon discounted new with no postage is sometimes cheaper and latest edition !)
