I did a SOA last year and i just wanted to see how far i have got with it all. I also can't find my SOA from last year to show you all.
Last year, i was on the highest package for Virgin media including tv,phone and internet. I have now got rid of the house phone and tv and internet with them and iam on the mobile broadband but ended up with two contracts as they kept sending me to different departments on the telephone and by time i got thorugh to right place my 3 days was up to send it back..But i do use all my allowence each month on both dongles. So i guess it's worth it. Last year i was spending £100-£200 on the whole tv,telephone and internet package, mainly because i was ringing my mum abroad.
I have cut my food bill for me and 2 children and meal planned (from next month).
Changed my Gas and Electric to cheaper supplier. Iam also looking for a cheaper house to rent. Growing my own vegetables which my DS3 loves. Iam also on a DMP now with CCCS. I have not included cigrettes in this as iam trying to quit and want to see how better off i would be.
This is my SOA:
Income - Monthly (4week)
Child Tax £325.40
Income Support £242.00
Child Benefit £124.00
Housing £380.60
Total £1072.00
Expenditure
Rent £575.00 (£380.60 housing then i put £194.40 away each month out of my own money.
Contents Insurance £11.28
Gas and Elec £40 for both
Broadband £25.00
Contract mobile £50.00 (ring abroad a lot)
Water £23.00
DMP £48.00
Tv Licence £12.05 (pay £36.16 every 3 months)
Food £100.00 or less.
Transport £5.00-£10.00 a month.
We don't buy clothes every month as we have loads already.
So i should have £177.67 left but where is it all going????? I dont take kids out very often and i dont spend loads of money..im quite tight really lol
If there is any way of me doing more moneysaving let me know please.

Hi
Are you debts costing you £48 a month?
Haircuts, birthdays?
Can only suggest maybe a spending diary for the month to see where it goes. Go through your bank statement to see if there are any other direct debits that should have been cancelled.
How old are your children? If school age and you pass the shop each day - it soon adds up. Nursery fee's.
Good luck:A :A :A :A :A :A

Spending diary is the best way to go as Angel11 says. Here is a link to a good online one http://www.spendingdiary.com/.

Hiya, you've included your housing benefit as income, but then only included your contribution to the rent in your outgoings, so you are counting that money twice in effect. If you either take the housing benefit out of your income figures, or include the whole amount of your rent, you will get a true picture of your finances.
I get your income to £1072, and your outgoings to £894.33, so you have £177.67 left."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Snaggles Ive updated it now.
I dont pay any nursery fee's now as i have took my youngest out of nursery. but that was costing me £16.50 a week.
My friend who's a hairdresser does my hair.
I don't count birthdays in my SOA but i usually spend £10 on 2 children (neice and nephew) and also my children get about £30 each on there birthdays.. do you think thats a bit much?Sealed Pot dec 08 - dec 09 so far £27.67, Live off £4k Spent £330.20 GC £1,200 for 2009 Spent £50.78 PaD so far £650.07Debts: L/woods £154.00 C/One PAID O/D £649.90 Next £299.95 O/D PAID Gas £72.60 Electric £155.73 Mum £640.00 Orange £490.320 -

One thing that stands out to me is the broadband costs, at £25 they are quite high and you can probably knock at least a tenner off that by shopping around.0

Any way of cutting down your mobile contract? Can you use Skype or messaging? or dont they have access to a PC?
The broadband is really high, you should shop round when your present contract ends if that applies.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -
I have only just got my internet and because they didnt put me on the 3GB a month (they put me on the 1GB) they told me even though it was there fault i could not return it as it was past the 3 days in which i had to return it.
My mum does not have the internet and also she rings me now so should stay at £35 a monthSealed Pot dec 08 - dec 09 so far £27.67, Live off £4k Spent £330.20 GC £1,200 for 2009 Spent £50.78 PaD so far £650.07Debts: L/woods £154.00 C/One PAID O/D £649.90 Next £299.95 O/D PAID Gas £72.60 Electric £155.73 Mum £640.00 Orange £490.320
