Well, I guess the first option would be to pop off to the Drs so you can explain what the problem is, and maybe get a blood test to see if it is the perimenopause, then take it from there. Not a lot of help, I know when you feel rotten now!

Did you have a bad night's sleep too? Everything seems worse when you're tired.

I`ve a blood test next Thurs, also waiting for a laparoscopy <sp> to find out what occuring!

I slept well last night, and i dont feel tired at the moment, i just ache, i`m bloated 27/7 lately (all over), all i do is cry, i`m getting bad palpatations, i sweat like a pig, i feel faint, my lower abdoman hurts, i feel like my stress levels are gonna burst, i`m miserable, i dont smile, i dont want to talk, i feel alone, yet i dont want anyone near me, i want to go out, yet going out is now making me panic.
I feel pathetic, i`m fed up with moaning about it, so what must my family feel like. Its all Me, Me, Me,
I`m trying to keep up with going to work (we are self employed), but thats just making me worse atm, as getting out of bed, just existing and breathing seems to be a struggle. Its an effort to wash, i look awful, i`ve got this certain look across my eyes (unless i`m going potty). My skin is !!!!!, my hair is dry, and falls out, my nails are brittle, i`m sprouting hair all over the place. I`m getting fatter.

God FFS shut up women, I`m sorry

Ok, pretty bad then?! Well at least the tests are booked, so that's good. Is there something you can do to get you through the day - maybe a good film so that you can at least sit on the sofa and forget it all for a couple of hours? Will setting yourself a small goal help - maybe up and showered if you're still in bed?

Sorry, not much help. Can you get to the doctor before next week, perhaps?

A lot of your symptoms sound like it could be under-active thyroid gland. It would be worth asking your doctor to check this out with a blood test. Please Google hypothyroidism and have a read, it really does fit with a lot of your problems. I was diagnosed in December and have been on thyroxine since, still not shifting any weight and I still get palpitations, but do feel a lot better. Also started getting menopause symptoms at the same time - hot flushes and night sweats. Have cured them by taking sage capsules twice a day - thank goodness.

Please do speak to your doctor though, you really sound like you need some help.

Take care.

Hi,
I looked up the symptoms, the doc is testing me for that when i go next week, i was checked a year ago, but they came back normal, tho i have just read that sometimes that happens when in fact it isnt normal.
I also have carpal tunnel syndrome, and 2/3`s of the symptoms listed, but its confusing, as alot of the symptoms could be due to other things, all i know is i want so desperately to feel better.

I'm in total agreement, when I read your post about your hair and skin being awful, being bloated, exhausted etc it sounded like me when my thyroid packed up.

thought I was good with money until I counted up the debts

Just a quick update, ive spoken to my Sister, and didnt realise she has an under active thyroid, and so has my 3 Aunts, and my Sis seems to think that most of my symptoms could well be due to the same thing, and as its in my direct family, i think it could be too, but if the test i have next week come back normal, as it did last year, i`m sure the doc is going to say its my depression, when i KNOW its not (not saying i`m not feeling depressed, but this is different), if it comes back normal, can i asked to be tested again, or will the doc get humpy like im telling him hes not doing his job properly IYSWIM.

Another update!
I went to my GPs today for my blood results, and its come back as "Suggestive of early menopause" I`ve got the results here, (which i`ve got to take to the gyno, when i get an appointment) but cant make much sense of them, something to do with LH and FSH levels?? Does anyone know anything about these? What do they mean etc

Many thanks

Caz

I think LH is Luteinising Hormone and the other one is probably a hormone too, which probably detects whether you are ovulating. I think pregnancy tests look for LH levels! have you thought of homeopathy? My work colleague had her menopausal symptoms fixed within 10 days using a liquid from a homeopath. She didn't want to go down the HRT route. There are lots of natural things like Black Cohosh and Soy Isoflavins that are supposed to be natural solutions. Might be worth a go. Anyway it sounds horrid, you poor thing, my sympathies. Might be worth spending a few ££s in Holland & Barrett if you can afford it.

FSH is folicle stimulating hormone-the tests look for the levels of these hormones and depending on the time of the cycle they can tell if they are balanced.Pregnancy tests look for HCG-human chorionic gonadotrophin.
Kay is right about the natural remedies, just be careful with black cohosh as there has been some toxicity reports-never take more than the bottle states.
I have found some relief with menopace-but I think I was pretty run down anyway so needed an all-round boost! One of my firends also swears by bergen bread, available in most supermarkets-it is full of linseed including the isoflavins.

I have been in perimenopause for about 4 years... I take yasmin pill for it and it has totally changed my life. it got rid of hot flushes, panic, lack of confidence, in fact nearly every peri symtom i had and beleive you me, i was as bad as you....i had every symtom going. go to a specialist doctor at family planning clinic and she will prescribe you something to get rid of your symtoms and balance out your hormornes......you soon be as right as rain
