£7 Motorola PAYG

What's the deal?

Bargain shops Poundstretcher and Instore (owned by the same group) are selling Motorola F3 pay-as-you-go mobiles for just £6.99 each. And, although it comes with a Virgin Sim card, the deal breaker with this phone is that a few people have reported that it's an unlocked handset so can be used on any network. See Mobile Unlocking for details.

What do you get?

Admittedly it's a very basic phone but, for less than £7, if you're after an emergency 'granny in the glove box' handset, this isn't bad.

Where to get it

It's available across all UK stores but as the offer's been on throughout the weekend many have run out of stock or only have a couple of units left. Yet we've been told deliveries are expected at some point in the week so call your local Poundstretcher/Instore to check one's available before making a special trip.

Many thanks to MoneySaver iloveabargain for the top spot!

  • I got a leaflet throught the door last night from Instore/£-stretcher advertising a Motorola mobile phone on Virgin mobile network for £6.99. Don't know how long they'll have them in for, but thought it was worth posting for you.

My dad has one of these phones, theyre very cheap and tacky. Good for if you want a cheap phone, bad for anything else.
  • Well, for £6.99 I wouldn't expect too much, but for an emergency phone or to use for the odd call or text they'd be OK.

Just bought an LG from tesco today £26.00 inc £10 credit they are £33.98 online and instore but even Tesco must be feeling the credit crunch as when i hummed and harred at customer services they dropped it to the £26.00

    Fantastic............Every little helps.

Heres a link to the phone http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.202-6872.aspx and if no one believes me about the price i will post a scanned copy of the till receipt, trouble is i would have to post it elsewhere and link you to it but then this post would dissapear as the powers that be are sometimes shall we say a little " Small minded "

Very basic mob but excellent for technophobes, elderly and people with sight problems (large buttons, text, display good in sunlight, lightweight). Very, very Bad for texting. Just bought 3 for taking abroad; excellent value. Thanks for posting this folks.
