Hi
I was wondering if anyone had any experience of getting Travel Insurance with pre-existing medical conditions.
Is there are company you could recommend that will cover this. My OH has had 2 heart attacks but has now been given the all clear.
I myself have high-blood pressure but this is controlled with medication.
Can anyone help please?

A relative of mine got his through his bank if I recall correctly.
He needs constant medication.
Was about £700 a couple of years back, but did cover having to airlift him by helicopter from a cruise ship if required (it wasnt thankfully)

We have used Columbus Direct recommended in a post on that thread and they were much cheaper than other companies for hubby with 5 conditions to declare and cover was just as good.0 -
My mom used TSB insurance, saga and age concern without any trouble at all

I use club direct which is on the net and they have a freephone number to tell them about medical conditions.
They covered me for emphasema, bronchiectasis and copd for no more cost and if you have been signed off for any pre existing med conditions then they will not charge you, ie if you consultant has said you don't need to have any more appts with them.:j0 -

I'll second that. And ItsSoEasy is not-for-profit too.0 -
Insure and go also cover people with medical conditions, but you have to call them and speak to an advisor.
They were the cheapest and offered great cover when wewent to Canada.0 -
I have just taken out an annual European policy with Essential Travel
Travel Insurance - Purchase Cheap Holiday Insurance for worldwide, ski and annual cover online - UK Residents
There are three tiers to choose from depending on what cover you require.
You have to declare your pre existing conditions to the medical screening company on Essential Travels web site to be assessed, my husband has high cholesterol and has been in hospital for an op' (which you have to declare if you have been in during the last two years.)
The charge for Europe was £30 for worldwide it would have been £60 (you pay the charge directly to the screeening company )
The insurance was £122.39 (inc a £2.40 charge for visa)
We are aged 73 and 72
