Another headline grabber which, when looked at closely, doesn't amount to much.0

why does it not amount to much ?
is it not 8% ??0 -
"What are the minimum and maximum amounts that can be paid in?
To qualify for the 8% gross/AER3 savings rate, you need to transfer between a minimum of £20 and up to a maximum of £250 into your Gold Savings Account every month for a full 12 months. In addition, you need to pay at least £1,000 into your Gold Current Account every month for the same period."
The current account pays 2.78%AER.0 -
well i'm going to set up a joint account
pay £1000 in
set up two standing orders for £250 each into savings
and another for £500 back to my main bank account

When the OP wrote this, the Cheshire BS regular saver was available (it has since been withdrawn, probably due to oversubscription).
That also offered 8% but with none of conditions that Greycrow has referred to. It was a far better bet, but now it is not available any more, the N&P deal looks very good - if a little user unfriendly.

Only seems to come up under a cached search now:

doesn't exist at this address anymore I assume?].....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
OK Ive gone for these accounts, lets say I pay in the £1000 into the gold current account by standing order is my understanding correct that I can then transfer the money out and incur no penalty to my gold savings account i.e I still get the 8% interest on the funds I transfer into this account0
