arrrghhhhhhhhhhhh

I know everyone has to start somewhere but bl00dy newbies on ebay are driving me mad!!!
Sold something Thursday night and today received an email saying I have contacted you 3 times to see where my item is.
Had great pleasure in telling them that as they paid with an echeque they have to wait until the echeque has cleared.

arggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh--oh god that makes me feel better :rotfl:

Paypal have recently had a funny turn, using e-cheques rather than instant payment, with no explanation and no word to the buyer. I've been buying for years, and it happened to me - the seller had 3 regular buyers paying by e-cheque, with no idea that they had done so.

A lot of buyers assume that if the money is taken from credit/debit card or by bank transfer that the money is automatically credited to their account.

In my opinion Paypal are a little underhand when it comes to eCheques. They do not make it clear enough at the time the person makes the payment that it is an eCheque and that the seller wont be able to send the item till it clears...about 10 to 12 days. This then leaves us sellers to advise the buer who is often irate that they have not received their item yet when in fact their payment hasnt even cleared.

When I speak to customers they often have no idea they have paid from their bank account. This is Paypal trying to keep their card processing costs down so it is to their benefit to promote eCheques or indeed let buyers use an eCheque/Bank Transfer without them really knowing that is what they are doing.

I block eCheques in my preferences for this reason. Even then Paypal dont tell the buyer the real reason their payment isnt going through instead they give them a message to say something like 'the seller has rejected your payment' or 'the seller has indicated they cannot accept your payment'. They really should be honest and say 'becaue you are using a bank transfer to fund this Paypal payment which takes up to 12 days to clear the seller has opted not to accept such payments'.

I've now got the boyfriend of this person threatening me as i wont send the item out. He has 8 feedback--i have 2500 !
I've explained about echeques to him 6 times and yet he is still moaning. Can I cancel the transaction now and tell them where to shove their echeque?

I have been using ebay for years on and off and recently because I changed bank details, all my payments have been going by echeque - I always write to the seller and say sorry if it goes through as an echeque, let me know if you have any problems...

Last week I got a NEUT from a seller saying 'got payment now but not happy about echeque - stated paypal only'

When I asked why she didnt email me I got a stream of abuse - this was all for a 99p item. She got a NEG for her terrible customer service.

If he's giving you abuse then you could consider reporting them to eBay. I got a load of abuse once from the cousin of a buyer who'd arsed me about. eBay closed both his and the buyers accounts :p

Like the post above says from repo - report the buyer. Also tell them ring you - there the one who wants to sort it out. Tell them waste there bill/credit/contract.

Sounds like a pain in the backside to me - good luck x
