I applied for an Egg Money Card and was approved with 7.9% apr. Just logged onto my account and it says it's 16.9%. What's going on? trying to contact them now.

I've had an Egg Money card for a couple of years now, and just checked the rate on my log-in: still 7.9%. Be interested to hear what they say to you; is this just for new applications maybe?

Definitely Egg Money. Just checked the credit agreement I downloaded and it clearly states 7.9%. Still awaiting a response.

Just spoken to a customer service rep who assures me I am on the 7.9% rate. She couldn't explain why it is showing as 16.9% on my 'Your Money'.

It is a newly opened account so she wonders if the standard rate has been stuck on the site until it fully updates with all my details.

Needless to say I'll keep an eye on it.

    Hi,
I recently applied and just received my card. I just checked online and it also says 16.9%. I'll also keep a close eye on this!

In the credit agreement I printed when I applied, it actually says 16.9% too . Nothing I can do about that I guess, although the fact that they still advertise in big letter a "low rate of 7.9%" is surely not right!

yes, I see... oh well, it's not too bad: I wasn't really going to use the credit (will use it either as a mule for stoozing or repaying the balance monthly). Thanks
