King Alfred was the popular king. He translated Pope Gregory I's Pastoral Care into Old English
2 What is the name of the second village? Wraxall
The gothic mansion of Tyntesfield is located in the village of the same name in North Somerset

Thomas Hughes was MP for the small town of Frome.
The second author was Anthony Powell.
To the west of Frome is the village of Mells, traditional home of Little Jack Horner.
Nunney Castle dates from 1373 and partially collapsed in 1910.
The 160ft high folly is King Alfred's Tower.

Hi burnleybarbie, welcome to MSE. Sorry its spoilt your Sunday but why did you look on here if you didn't want to know the answers? Were you searching the web for the answers and found etch had already posted them?
BTW, by sharing comps & answers we increase our chances of winning - might seem counter intuitive but that's what happens when people pool their resources and energy together. I've certainly won a lot more prizes since joining here and if you don't believe me look at this thread of winners:
