How can I evict some squirrels?

We had the furry blighters in our loft and then we had the loft extended. My thoughts were that this would mean that the squirrels would move on, however they are back! The front bedroom has a cupboard along the front in the eaves. My son heard scratching from inside and when my OH looked some papers that had been put in for storage had been chewed. Our neighbour is a bit strange - he is old and hates any intervention from anyone, and he definately has them in his loft too. I can't ask him to do anything about the squirrels as he doesn't care about the state of his house. Is there anything they really hate so that I can keep them out of mine?
I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

Pesky little things when they want to be.
we have a wood next to us with loads of the little blighters, but they are fun to watch as long as they dont get destructive.
You can buy repellants from garden centres, and even traps not sure how good they are though.
This is an interesting read for a DIY repellant;

Thanks alanobrien that link looks really helpful. I'll be trying the old mothballs in a sock trick! I'll also look at the tips on how to stop them digging up everything in my garden.
Newfunk - don't tempt me! I have been known to chuck items at them. One day I lobbed a catalogue at one, but unfortunately it was sitting on the plastic roof of my conservatory and I was inside. I put a hole in the roof and a splinter in its botty. Whoops!I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0 -
Do they have a contract with you? Are they up to date with their rent?0

Have a look at these links:

Not a great deal of information there, but I'm trying desperately to give you a sensible answer.
