How much money do Lottery players raise every week for Good Causes?
A: £10m
B: £15m
C: £25m
To celebrate the difference Lottery money has made to the North-East and to highlight the giant Lottery balls rolling into the region, we're offering one lucky reader the chance to win a laptop.
Beamish Open Air Museum and the Bunny Hill Wellness Centre have more than just location in common - they've both received funding from The National Lottery, and are just two of the thousands of projects across the North East, which together have been awarded more than £31 million in the last year alone!
While you may be familiar with some of the high profile projects that have received funding across the North East, like The Angel of the North or Newcastle's International Centre for Life, you may not know about the other local Good Causes in your community. There's likely to be a project just around the corner from where you live...
This week, try and spot one of our giant Lottery balls which have been placed at projects like these all over the North East, so you can see where Lottery funding is going in your community!
In the North-East, funding for the Beamish Open Air Museum in County Durham has helped to bring the past to life for thousands of visitors, while a Lottery grant for the Bunny Hill Wellness Centre in Sunderland has dramatically helped to improve the fitness levels of people in the local area.
Did you know that 28 pence from every pound you spend on the Lottery goes towards grants for projects like these, and thousands of other Good Causes across the UK? Over half of all Lottery grants are under £5,000, helping small projects make a big difference to people's lives. Since the National Lottery began in 1994, over £20 billion has been raised for Good Causes in the UK - that's £25 million a week.
To celebrate the difference Lottery money has made to the North East we're offering one lucky winner a laptop.
