ARTICLE 1: THE ORGANISER
The Tourist Board of Calvados, with head office situated at 8 rue Renoir, 14054 Caen Cedex 4, France (hereafter referred to as “the Organiser”), is organising, from 7 April 2008 to 15 May 2008 at midnight inclusive, a free competition with no obligation to buy, called CALVADOS UNIQUE BREAK, published on the Internet site www.moncalvados.com (hereafter referred to as "Site").
ARTICLE 2: ACCESS AND PERIOD OF THE COMPETITION
This competition can be accessed by different methods:
1/ by clicking on the competition’s Internet banners
2/ on the Site
The competition is taking place continually from 7 April 2008 to 15 May 2008 at midnight, inclusive, French date and time (GMT +2) of connection acting as proof.
It is recalled that participation is independent of any obligation to buy.

ARTICLE 4: INSCRIPTION AND PARTICIPATION
4.1 Participation in the competition implies the deliberate acceptance, without condition, of these rules, of the rules of deontology in force on the Internet (netiquette, charter of good conduct, etc.) and the laws and regulations applicable to games in France. Any dispute concerning its interpretation will be settled without appeal by the Organiser.
4.2 This competition is open to all individuals having attained their majority and residing in the United Kingdom only, with the exception of all people who took part directly or indirectly in designing the competition, and their families. This particularly concerns staff of DDB Travel & Tourism and staff of the Organiser.
4.3 The Participant will need to register. Registration of participations is continuous during the entire period of competition. The time of receiving the inscription recorded on the computer server dedicated to the competition and hosted with the service provider chosen by the Organiser will be taken as proof.
4.4.1 To take part (until 15 May 2008 at midnight, inclusive, French date and time of connection acting as proof):
No other method of participation (notably by mail) will be taken into consideration.
4.5 One inscription only is authorised per person and per household (same last name and same address). If it is observed that a participant has sent, for the same person or household, several participation forms, only one will be validated and all others will be cancelled.
4.6 The Participant accepts that the information on the inscription form is correct. Information entered by the Participant is binding as soon as it is validated. The Organiser reserves the right to check the accuracy of information supplied by participants.
The Participant undertakes to correctly fill in the inscription form and to send correct information to the Organiser. The participant must fill in all fields, except those that are marked as non-compulsory.
Participations will be cancelled if they are incorrect, incomplete, fake or if they contravene these rules in any way.
ARTICLE 5: COMPETITION INTEGRITY
Participation in this competition implies acceptance of these rules. Participants shall abstain from implementing or trying to implement any participation process that does not strictly comply with the principles of competitions and with these rules.
The Organiser also reserves the right to disqualify any participant who alters the functioning of the competition or of the Site, or who violates the official competition rules. The Organiser reserves the right to pursue any person who attempts to commit fraud or to damage the correct functioning of this competition.
The Organiser reserves the right to carry out checks in relation to this article and the rules, particularly to remove any participant who abuses the rules in any way or who makes an attempt at fraud, without being obliged to systematically verify all participation forms received. It may restrict this verification to the forms of potential winners.
The Organiser reserves the right to extend, reduce, modify or cancel this competition for reasons beyond its control. If, for any reason whatsoever, this competition does not take place as planned, for example following a computer virus, a bug, a non-authorised external intervention or intrusion on the computer system, fraud, a technical failure or any other reason beyond the control of the Organiser that may corrupt or effect the management, security, fairness and correct running of the competition, then the Organiser reserves the right to cancel, modify or suspend the competition, or to end it at once, without participants being able to seek its liability.
The Organiser can decide to cancel the competition if it turns out that any kind of fraud is involved, particularly computer fraud in the context of participating in the competition or of determining the winners.
ARTICLE 6: PROOF
Data contained in the Organiser’s information systems have evidential weight in terms of connection and information from computer processing in relation to the competition organised by the Organiser.
ARTICLE 7: DESIGNATION OF WINNERS
Within 10 days of the end of the competition, a prize draw will be organised by the bailiff with whom the rules are filed, to designate 1 winner from all participants who correctly answered the question and sent back their participation form duly filled in before the competition’s closing dates and times.
There will be just one prize lot per winner for the entire duration of the competition.
ARTICLE 8: PRIZES
The prize is: a “Cooking class at La Chenevière” trip for two people in Calvados
- 2 nights in a Deluxe room in La Chenevière
- 2 breakfasts
- 2 dinners, including one gastronomic
- 1 lunch (drinks included)
- 1 cooking lesson
- one welcome cocktail and a hot drink
- 1 guided tour of fish being landed
- 1 tour of a distillery
- 1 visit to a fishmonger
The stay does not include any other expense that is not specifically mentioned in the description above, and in particular
Value of prize: €1,180, i.e. £931 according to the exchange rate on 28/03/2008
The value of this prize is a maximum value: the value depends on the dates chosen by the winner. No reimbursement will be made if the prize value is less than the value stated.
ARTICLE 9: POSSESSION OF PRIZE
Within 15 days of the prize draw, the winner will be informed by e-mail to the e-mail address given on the participation form.
Conditions for taking possession of the prize will be indicated in this e-mail. If the winner does not reply within once month of receiving this e-mail or if the contact information is invalid, false or wrong, the prize will be awarded to a replacement winner.
To take advantage of the prize, the winner must provide the Organiser, on request, all paperwork justifying his/her identity and address.
Each prize is nominative and non-transferable. The prize cannot, at the winner’s request, be reimbursed in cash or any other method, nor be replaced with an equivalent prize. If circumstances of force majeure oblige it to do so, the Organiser may replace each prize with an equivalent prize in terms of nature and value.
Reservation dates are subject to the availability of the accommodation and the cooking class. The Organiser cannot be held responsible if the dates chosen by the winner are not available. Once booked, the break cannot be exchanged or reimbursed.
ARTICLE 10: DISPUTES
These competition rules have been written in French and in English.
In the event of its interpretation being contested, the French version will prevail.
These rules are subject to French law. The fact of taking part in this competition and having checked the box accepting these rules at the time of inscription implies acceptance of these rules. Any interpretation issues of these rules and any disputes will be settled, as a last resort, by the Organisers or by the Paris (France) law courts in relation to French law.
ARTICLE 11: COMPUTING AND FREEDOM
To take part in the competition, participants must provide certain personal information. This information will be saved and will be processed automatically in compliance with French Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 pertaining to computing, files and freedom and to European Directive 95/46/CE pertaining to the protection of personal data.
Participants have the right to access, modify, rectify or delete data concerning them. Participants can exercise this right by writing to: Comit! D!partemental du Tourisme du Calvados, 8 rue Renoir, 14054 Caen Cedex 4 France.
ARTICLE 12: RESPONSIBILITY
The Organiser’s responsibility is strictly limited to issuing the prizes effectively and validly won.
The Organiser will not be held responsible for any dysfunctions related to the Internet network itself or to any intrusion, attempt at intrusion or fraud causing failures in the administration, security, fairness, integrity or management of the competition. The Organiser will not be declared responsible for any errors, omissions, stoppages, deletions, loss of e-mail and more generally loss of any data that arises from this.
The Organiser will not be held responsible for any saturation of the Internet network, the quality of Internet users' equipment or the quality of their mode of access that may have repercussions on the time taken to route the answers or on the connection time necessary to take part. The Organiser can therefore not be held responsible if electronic participation forms are not recorded, are incomplete or impossible to check.
By taking part in this competition and within the limits of what is permitted by Law, each participant accepts and undertakes to support, guarantee and fully compensate the Organiser, its subsidiaries and mother companies, employees and communication consulting agencies, for all damages or losses caused or suffered by the participant due to taking part in this competition or due to the possession and use of the prize, except for cases stipulated in the applicable law.
ARTICLE 13: REIMBURSEMENT
Connection fees related to taking part in the competition are reimbursed on the basis of 3 minutes at France T!l!com local rates, on simple written request to the competition address: INSOLITE CALVADOS COMITE DEPARTEMENTAL DU TOURISME DU CALVADOS - 8 rue Renoir - 14054 Caen Cedex - France (one participation only per person). Each envelope should contain only one request for reimbursement, for one single participant: €0.16. The corresponding stamp will also be reimbursed (on the basis of €0.49, corresponding to the rate in France for second class mail, for an envelope weighing less than 20 grams) on request made at the same time as the request for reimbursement of connection fees. Any request for reimbursement of connection fees must be accompanied with the participant’s last name, first name and address, the title of the competition, bank details, and a copy of the detailed invoice from the Internet provider to which he/she subscribes. To be taken into account, all requests must arrive in writing no later than 30 days after the end of the competition, with the postmark acting as proof.
Fees linked to photocopies of justifying documents are reimbursed on the basis of €0.15 per sheet, on simple request at the same time as the request for reimbursement of connection fees.
The reimbursement will be made by bank transfer, within 60 days of receiving the request, after verification of the legitimacy of the request and of compliance of the information contained in the letter requesting the reimbursement with the information on the inscription form filled in on the site.
Participants who do not pay connection costs related to the number of their connections (no-limit connections, cable, broadband connections, etc.) will not be reimbursed.
