What's the deal?
The BBC is offering a free copy of Olive, a food and travel magazine, when you call 0844 848 0093 and quote code OLMS408 (before 22 April 2008).
Lines open Mon-Fri : 09:30am - 08:45pm and Sat 10:00am - 01:45pm.
Calls to 0844 and 0845 numbers will be charged at 5p per minute from a BT landline at any time and rates may vary for mobiles.
Just give your name and address and you'll be sent a free copy. The operator is also likely to offer you a further two copies of the magazine for £1, but you'll need to give credit card details or direct debit details for this. The free offer does not need you to give payment details.
Where's the code from?
This offer is mentioned elsewhere on the forum by freebielover, so thanks for the top spot. When we spotted the code we checked with the BBC about the deal and it asked us to use this specific code so it could track how many people asked for the mag. Whilst it's a special code, there is no commercial relationship between MSE and the BBC.

Have just taken up this offer.
Just a detail - if you go for the three copies for £1, that includes the "free" copy.0 -
Just tried this, this morning and first when you get put through you go into a queue, then a few minutes later a message tells you that they're soooo busy they can't take your call and you get cut off!
Hope this saves you about 15p - cost of a three minute phone call.
Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

Just ordered mine
she didn't actually ask for the code - I just said 'can I order my free copy please?'0 -
I've tried 4 times today and each time lasts about 1min. 40sec. and then I was cut off, save yourself some money and don't call....0

Crikey whinge whinge whinge lol
Well I've just done the whole order thing in 4mins 11sec - decided that for a measley quid it was ok to get another couple of copies.
I did ask for my free copy & she asked if I had my code - dead simple!
cheers
colI'm tired of the censorship0 -
Just called up now and got straight through. As they answered I accidentally clicked refresh on this page and for whatever reason (damn rubbish work PC's) it would not reload. I felt a right idiot as I said I have a code for a free magazine but can't find it at the moment. He said he can't do it without a code but he would look for an offer for me. He waited a good 2 minutes with me frantically trying to get the screen to refresh before telling me about the 3 for a pound offer (as nomadgirl says the first is free and then you pay 50p for the next two).
Out of embarrassment (and desperation) I just agreed to the offer of the 3 which meant setting up a direct debit.
Still a good deal though as it does usually have some nice recipe ideas in and stuff..........Now I just need to remember to cancel it in a few months time!!
Thanks for the info
