Tyre Advice & etyres discount ?
I need 4 Tyres 205/55/16/w is the fitting, best I can seem to find is Etyres
PIRELLI - P6000 are £76.50, which is what I have at the moment and they have lasted well, this price seems resonable as they come to your home to fit the tyres.
1) Can any advise of Avon ZZ3's or Firestone TZ 200 are any good - these are £10 cheaper than the Pirelli's.
2) is anywhere else cheaper that etyres ? I was thinking maybe Cost Co or some place like that, but do they fit them (I know a member so thats not a problem)
3) and finally just to reduce the price more, does anyone know of a discount code for etyres - there is an option on their website, but a search on the Internet was not helpful in getting a code
thanks for the help

Hello Leemcl

I don't know anything about the Avons, but Firestone are a budget tyre.. Really not worth getting to save a few quid..
Budget tyres are false economy in my opinion.
Try www.blackcircles.com - 205/55 R16 V (91)
£66.81 I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0 -
Have a look at 'Tyre-Shopper', they use National Tyres to fit them. Lots of choice. I'd go for Continental or Bridgestone.
The 'Which' Best buy is the Vredestein Sportrac 3, available for £60(incl.del.) from Camskill(apx£10 each to fit)

The best advice is always to replace your tyres with the same make that is already fitted to the car - but only if you are replacing the original tyres or if all the tyres on the car are the same. This is because the tyres will be approved by the vehicle manufacturer for that car and/or the driving balance will be maintained.
Otherwise...
Pirelli is a premium make of tyre and will be the latest tyre technology.
Avon is a long established tyre manufacturer but uncommon in the UK and rarely fitted on mainstream new cars.
Firestone is a mid-range brand from Bridgestone (which is the premium brand) and are likely to be older lesser technology Bridgestone tyres.0 -
Just to add..check with your local non national tyre place how much they charge to fit tyres. I got mine fitted and balanced for half the price of the etyres one.0

If you check the Black Circles link mentione already, they have some tyre road tests, for many makes & tread patterns.
I've found www.justtyres.co.uk has good prices - on line prices are lower, so you need to print off the page & take to the branch.
You'll save more if you clik the free discount voucher on the site too.
Also they have extra ddeals updated on the site sometimes - maybe something there for you!!

Yes Costco fit and they do deals every so often, we bought 4 in a deal and had then fitted to 2 different cars (2 tyres on each car), they were even different sizes, but they still did the deal and fitted them in about 30mins whilst we were shopping in CostCo. From memory they were Pirelli P6000's and for a Peugeot 106 size tyre they were less than £25 per tyre fully fitted. So give them a call and see what price they quote.

I have the Avon ZZ3's and they are awesome. They come highly recommended from many on FFOC forums. Excellent in both dry and wet conditions!"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

Pirelli P6000's are the devil's spawn. I wouldn't ever have them on my car, they have zero grip in the wet.
I have Michelin Primacy HP on the back of mine, they're excellent. A bit more expensive than yours though, although they're worth the extra.
Never skimp on tyres. Ever.
Oh and Costco do fit tyres - their tyre prices are inclusive of fitting and balancing. They have a rotation policy, if you're replacing the fronts and the rears have less tread, they will swap them around (its best to have the most tread on the back rather than the front) which is good.0
