just a quick note about these... it's a great price, and they are a good novelty.. but.....!!

they are quite noisy, the motor on them is not as quiet as you would like it to be. For example, I had one going at a kids party at our house, the fountain was in our downstair back room. when i went up to our loft I could stll clearly hear it with doors closed behind me... and it cost me about £7 in chocolate to get it looking like it was "full"

don't even get me started on the time it took to clear up! the instructions say that normal melted chocolate wont go through the mechanism, so you add cookig oil to the chocolate to make it smoother. Too much oil and all you can taste is the oil, too little and the chocolate dries up whilst in the base and stops the flow of chocolate.

Nice to have... but don't imagine a waterfall of chocolate gently cascading over beautifully sculptured curves... if the motor doesn't deafen you the chocolate with added fat will definitely get ya!

Yes, good bargain... but it's cheap for a reason. happy chocolatin'!

  • Mine arrived yesterday. It's about 14" high, dark red painted metal at the bottom, and plastic at the top and takes 500-600g of chocolate. If you get Asda Smart Price, that's under a pounds worth.

Thanks so much to the original poster.

Went and bought loads of nonsense for the kids to put in it. I know it's messy and noisy, but so are the kids, and at least you know where they are.

I think I'll put some polythene sheeting down before we start...
So many glitches, so little time...
  • Thank you, OP :-) Mine arrived today, and I got 20% of for being a new customer, so £3.99 total. Wahay! My son is very excited as I've told him we can use it for his birthday party next month.
