It could be a payment for the year(?) if you and partner for instance have a large joint income.

It should say somewhere on the letter what period it covers.
    Torgwen.......... :) ...........
  • you would not get any WTC if you had a large joint income... only CTC (child tax credit) It is therefore safe to say that you have not got a large joint income as only WTC is paid by the employer through wages (CTC is paid directly)If it says on your award that you are entitled to £2.70 per day then that will be 7 days (or 28/30/31 if paid monthly) if it just says 2.70 it could be that that is the monthly figure..you nee dto read the back page of your award as this is where it breaks down how the payments will be made
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)

during the last tax year 2004/5 i was paid WTC by my employer. i got a letter from IR saying it would be £1.58. as it turned out this is the daily amount (every day of the month) even though i only do 4 days .This meant i got an extra £ 45 ish each month.

    i hope this helps
