I've just sent an email off with the following (in case it helps anyone else ):

I have just entered your competition to win £300 M & S Vouchers & in accordance with your Privacy Policy I am hereby notifying you that I do not wish to receive information by telephone / fax / e-mail / post about yourselves / your companies / your special offers & other information which you think I may find useful.<o></o><o></o>
