i parked my car on a side road today there was a parking meter which said blue badge holders 2 hours free parking, (i always park here with no problems) any way today i got a £50 parking ticket.
anyway i realised i put the blue card in that shows the time i left the car and the actual badge i put in back to front so the photo side was showing not the expiry date side,
should i still pay or do you think i have grounds for an appeal ??

I've heard of people winning their appeals for doing the same thing...but I'm unsure under what circumstances.

Hi, this happened to me once when I took my disabled son out. I just phoned the number on the back of the parking fine ticket, I was asked to go to their office with the disabled badge which I did, they then cancelled the fine.

you displayed your badge incorrectly !!!!! it may be a small mistake but how was the parking attendant supposed to know it was valid ?

We all make mistakes in life. We should have the rights to explain/defend ourselves if we do make one. When he appeals he can prove to the authorities that the blue badge is valid. sign0029.gif

I got a ticket when parking in london with my blue badge. When you get your blue badge, the booklet with it tells you that there are different rules for the london area. I got a book for the specific council(westminster) so i could figure out where to park. Unfortunatly i got it wrong and parked incorrectly and so got a ticket. It was completely my fault and paid. Just because I'm disabled doesn't mean I shouldn't pay for my mistakes.
You make a mistake -no matter who you are- you should pay for it. Hopefully you learn from the mistake and be more careful in the future.
