12 Wilkinson sword Quattro blades for 50p each (merged)

I went into Tesco earlier today to get some razor blades for my dh. At the moment a pack of 8 Quattro blades is reduced from £9.96 to £5.96, then I noticed that a pack of 4 Quattro blades is reduced from £4.98 to £2.98. I was going to just get a pack of 8 but then I noticed that on the pack of 4 was a sticky voucher for £3 off a pack of 8 blades, so I picked up both. So there I was after it had gone through the till taking the voucher off the 4 pack. It worked out at 12 blades for £5.98. I think that qualifies as a bargain. (In the same shop I also got a pair of jeans reduced from £10 to £1 (and that isn't a typo and a swimming costume with a tummy control panel reduced from £15 to £3.75).

HTH someone

ps, I just noticed on the tesco site that the quattro razor is reduced from £5.64 to £3.64 aswell

  • Great post - Went into Tescos and picked up the Razor for £3-64 (with a £2 voucher for the blades) and 3 packs of blades with a £3 voucher in each. Cashier accepted ALL the vouchers so in total I paid just £1-58 for the lot!

Thanks cookiequeen, I bought a lot of the 4 packs (that had £3 off coupons) today. These are the sort I buy normally and they are so expensive. If I ever get coupons accepted at tesco these will have worked out very cheap (ie free).
  • just been down to local tescos, saw both razor at 3.64 and blades at 2.98 but nowhere could i see the vouchers i might add that the tescos was only a small branch [ withernsea ]. The branch are a bit funny about taking vouchers i need help here please.

The £2 voucher on the razor is on the back of the plastic packaging in a square plastic window. The £3 voucher on the blades should be immediately accessible on the front of the packaging and is red in colour - you can't miss it! If the blades/razor didn't have the vouchers then they're probably old stock (if the branch is small, they may not refresh their stock that often unless items are bought).

Incidentally, the Tesco coupon policy varies from store to store. Some stores will be happy to accept any manufacturer's coupons for any purchase (i.e. you don't have to buy the item for which the coupon is meant to be redeemed) while others will not. Those which do accept coupons for all purchases vary in their policy of the number/value of coupons which may be used in a single purchase. Strictly speaking, the £3 coupons are only valid for the 8-pack of Quattro blades (although I think the £2 coupons can be used against 4-packs or 8-packs) but since they are a manufacturer's coupon rather than a Tesco-specific coupon, the Tesco branch may be happy to accept them against the 4-pack of blades (or they may not notice they are only for the 8-packs and accept them anyway). My Tesco branch accepted the £3 voucher for the 4-pack effectively reducing their price to -£0.02!

My advice would be to see how it goes when you attempt to use the coupons. If they are awkward about it, the original price is still a bargain:

Wilkinson Sword Quattro razor with £2 voucher for Quattro blades - £3.64
4-pack of Quattro blades with £3 voucher for 8-pack of blades - £2.98 minus £2 voucher
    8-pack of Quattro blades - £5.96 minus £3 voucher

Total: £7.58 (or £5.94 if you don't buy the razor).

My advice would be to buy the razors/blades as part of a larger purchase and then they will be less apprehensive about accepting the coupons.
  • thanks for that information. It is as you say the products i saw had no vouchers on them. O well perhaps i will be lucky next time. Brilliant post though.
  • I have just been to Tesco and bought a wilkinson sword quattro razor with 2 blades, for £3.98 There is a £2 of a pack of 4 blades coupon attached. They have been reduced by £2 anyway so got them for 98p. On that pack there is a £3 off a pack of 8 blades which have been reduced by £4 odd. So in total i paid £15 for £47 worth of blades. Now that should keep the hubby quiet for a bit. The only thing is you have to keep going back to the till with the different offers, because the £3 one you have to fill your name and address in, but hey saving of £32 !!!!!!!
