Hi,
Have done a search, but can't seem to find what i'm looking for. A friend of mine has had to move out of her house as her kitchen ceiling collapsed. She's moving into a temporary house this weekend, and i said i'd help with shopping, only thing is, where do you start from scratch with storecupboard things. we've made a list, but can anyone goives us any tips on what we may have missed? probably the more obvious they are, the more likely we've missed them. Or if theres a thread that may help, can you point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
160

I've had to start a storecupboard from scratch a couple of times. Each time I go through my top 10 everyday recipes and make a list of all the ingredients I'd just grab from the cupboard - e.g. dried herbs for the spaghetti bolagnese, plain flour for the white sauce, salt to throw in with the rice, rice to serve with the stew etc. That gives you enough storecupboard ingredients to keep you going for the first few weeks. Then your friend can gradually add more bits & pieces as/when they can afford it.0

There are a couple around... I think a search on "basics" might help more than a search on "store cupboard".
I remember one fairly recently (a couple of months) but I don't think there's what you need in the MEGA Index yet...
