Credit Card Cancellations

Options
Hi Gang,

Great forum.

Just a quick question in the hope that someone may know the answer!

For the life of me I cant remember the name of the organisation(s) whereby you pay a flat annual fee and if in the unlikehood you were to lose your credit cards you can just call them up and they will take care of cancelling all the cards.

Can anyone assist?

Many Thanks
Cheers

    Hi Big Fella,

I know Sentinel offer this service, Could be others but this is the only one I know of. The service offered is called Credit Card Sentinel. This is usually available via your credit card provider, at a fee of course.

CPP & Sentinel are two of the main providers, although I don't have card protection myself. I only ever have switch and mastercard in my wallet and both emergency numbers are in mine and my wife's mobiles.

If you google for "card protection" you'll find web sites for the above and more.

A possible warning - if you are a stoozer, generally the stoozed cards need to be left in a drawer at home. If you lose your wallet/get mugged whatever and lose your purchasing cards, card protection may come into its own, but it could cause a problem if they cancel all your cards when you have only lost some - so I only ever tell them about cards which I might be carrying! The protection is not strictly necesary as you should be protected from fraud anyway, but most card providers will try to sell it - one of mine, can't remember which, said it was a condition of having the card. Not sure if that was true but in any case, make sure you don't pay up more than once!
