Im completely new to this. I only have some shares because I shopped through themutual.net and earnt them yonks ago. then they merged with someone else and I thought I'd lost them, until a bit of paper came through the post to say I'd got 165 http://www.tmnplc.com/ of the "ordinary shares of 0.01p" (whatever they are)
now the last time I looked at the share price it was 80p, but its now considerably more sizeable than that (if its the right share type, I dont know what "ordinary" shares means) and since we need a bigger car to fit our 3 kids in, nows a good time for me to cash them in.
I've looked at a post by Martin saying that some ppl charge £25 or more PER SHARE! to sell them for you. Also I'm not sure if mine are JUST paper shares, as I do have a bit of paper with them on but also it's an online company so I'm totally bamboozled!!
PLEASE can anyone help me???
thanks

These shares are currently trading at around 44p, if the ticker is TMN.
There are various options to sell the shares: if you do a search on this forum on "share certificate" it should throw up some threads.
edit: This may be of interest:
LONDON (ShareCast) - Shares in TMN Group jumped after the online marketing specialist confirmed that it has received a preliminary approach that may or may not lead to an offer being made.Debbie0 -
are you sure theyre only worth 44p? i always check here for the price http://www.tmnplc.com/
i will check my share certificate later to make sure its the right one. same question stands tho. i want to know how to sell them when i want toIf you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all0 -

- Take the share cert in to your bank (bank that carries out share trades) - cost £30+
- Open an online dealing account, send them the share cert, sell the shares, (close the account if you wish) - cost £12.50 or less
Online brokers:- SelfTrade
- Hoodless Brennan
- Halifax
- TD Waterhouse
- Barclays
- Interactive Investor *
- Motley Fool *
- etc, etc
* Note: both use Halifax services

If the SP appears less than you think it should be it is possible that:- The SP has lost value since you last checked
- They have had a share split, i.e. lowered the price and increased the number of shares you own
- Its the wrong company

Edit: Whilst I wouldn't recommend anyone rely or make decisions based on discussion boards if you click on the 'Discussion' header in the above link you can see that some posters are 'hoping' that the bid may realise 60p+ per share.
One note of caution, I work for a company who has had two preliminary approaches which did NOT lead to a takeover offer, and with each withdrawal the SP lost a lot of value afterwards.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

The only 'TMN' I could find is TMN Group Plc which appears to be the same as the one previosuly discussed. You can view the SP (share price), etc here:

holy !!!!! i was right!!! :j cloud dog i love you
i am a little concerned over the term "original shares of 0.01p each" on the certificate. when i earned them years ago (thru the mutual.net) thats what they were worth, is that all it means? If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all0 -

EDIT: I mentioned on a previously post about a share split whereby the number of shares issued is increased and the share price is reduced accordingly. If the SP is significantly higher today than when you bought them you may want to check to see if the company has had a share consolidation. This is where they do the opposite, they reduce the number of shares in issue and this has the effect of increasing the SP accordingly.
Hopefully this is not the case and you are 'in the money!!!'Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

umm, didnt quite understand that bit CD, all i know is that i shopped thru mutual.net and earned shares. then they merged with someone else and i cud no longer log into my account and i thought i'd lost them. but then in early 2007 i got this share certificate thru.
i see Halifax only charge £11.50 for selling shares, im gonna chek it out now and maybe pop into halifax today to find out more.
thank you so so much cloud dogIf you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all0 -
