Celevac/Methylcellulose??

Hi i am sure i posted this earlier but can't find it anywhere! It hasnt been moved so hey ho! will ask again lol! I saw Celevac mentioned on This Morning last week and apparently it fills ur stomach up before a meal and then you feel fuller with less......so.......

Does it work? How expensive is it? Where can i get it?

Cheers for any advice!
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

It's possible the mods thought you were asking for medical advice.
I replied with a link to Chemist Direct who supply for £4.25 + £2.90ish postage. Moneysaving answer. The fact that it is available on prescription means that any/every high street chemist can acquire it if you ask. (thus saving the postage)

I posted a link to this research that may help you understand HOW it MAY work as it reduced postprandial insulin excursions consistent with delayed glucose absorption.

Again this is moneysaving information as it's a waste of money buying stuff that hasn't got any research to prove it works or any logical reason why it should work.

I then pointed out that as it works by reducing the insulin spikes after a meal, there are other cheaper ways you can obtain that effect. The simplest is to stop eating foods that cause insulin spikes. Refined Carbs, sugar, high fructose corn syrup, starchy veg. Again moneysaving advice as I've saved a packet by losing the craving for alcohol (still not had a drop) and no need to buy bread/cakes/biscuits/snackbars etc.

I'm saving money by not feeling the craving to eat between meals or to eat as much at mealtimes.

It's all set out simply at Dr Dahlqvists blog.

A few of us at work tried Celevac. It did seem to make you feel full and therefore you weren't likely to snack. Just make sure you drink plenty of water with the tablets as they really do swell.

Ask in any Pharmacy if you want to purchase them. I think they cost about £5 for 112 tablets.

Is it not the water that is filling you up? xx

The tablets absorb the water and swell in size to make bulk in the stomach. This makes you think you are full.

    MEDICAL ADVICE

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on this forum as it’s not what this site is about. While discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments and how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable we ask you specifically not to discuss what to do in the event of certain medical problems (please see this rule on the Health Board). If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

Big Momma, you originally posted your question at the end of an older and longer thread in which some posts had definitely 'crossed the line', so I have closed it. I am now going to close this while I ask the Forum Team to decide whether this one can stay.
